Another year, another successful mission to HTLH USA! Over 60 Australians took Las Vegas by storm for HLTH 2024 – making new connections, showcasing their innovations and gaining insights into international expansion.

Our Partner Program session ‘Why Look Outside the US for Healthcare Innovation’ delved into the Australian digital health landscape, the opportunities and challenges it presents, and the home-grown success stories that have expanded globally. Thank you to our speakers Lisa Suennen (AHA Ventures), Drew Schiller (Validic), Scott Taylor (Perx Health) and Shaun McAlpine (Investment NSW) for sharing their insights with us!

Conference attendees had the chance to see Australia's innovations in action at our Showcase Pavilion, featuring eight start-ups including ANDHealth+ cohort companies Baymatob, Perx Health and Gheorg, alongside Australis Scientific Pty Ltd, Reggie Health, Stratos MedTech Pty Ltd, Vantari VR and VueMotion. CHICC (supported by the Victorian Government) and Invest and Trade Western Australia represented all that Victoria and WA have to offer for innovation, partnerships and hosting.

Throughout the 3-day event, our pavilion was a constant hive of collaboration and connection, and our networking event featuring Fowles Wine was the place to be on Tuesday afternoon.

Before making their way to Las Vegas for HLTH, our delegation had a busy few days in San Francisco!

We kicked things off with a tour of the University of California San Francisco and an evening of networking for our delegates to get to know each other.

The next day, Dan Chang, Andi Partovi and Colleen Pimentel from Google helped us learn about the Google Health ecosystem, the latest trends in AI and ML, and how Google supports start-ups and works with venture capital firms.

At Global Victoria's Market St office, leading US experts revealed their top tips for entering the world's pre-eminent healthcare market. Thank you to our speakers Lisa Suennen, Sofia O'Hara, Bill Evans, Saurabh Bhansali, Dr Aenor Sawyer, Amanda Goltz and Neda Blocho for sharing your insights with us and to Global Victoria for hosting.

Finally, we toured JLABS, Googleplex and Fogarty Innovation to discover the latest in healthcare innovation and how we can collaborate to improve health outcomes for all.
