The partnership will see ANDHealth help the next generation of entrepreneurial clinicians grow their knowledge skills and experience in digital and connected health technology innovation, development and commercialisation. Simultaneously, it will allow companies with digital and connected health technologies, products and services, to access critical end user, customer and consumer feedback on key aspects of product design, development and implementation from clinicians and medical professionals.
Ensuring that the frontline realities of delivering health and care are considered early in the product and service development process is critical to long term success in commercialisation, where workflow and implementation challenges can limit applicability of technologies which would otherwise change lives.
Dr Brandon Carp, President of the Australian Society for Medical Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ASME), said the partnership will strengthen connections between clinicians, health providers, start-ups and investors to create an ecosystem of collaboration.
“By creating partnerships with organisations such as ANDHealth, ASME is strengthening its commitment to joining the dots across the ecosystem,” Dr Carp said.
“ASME is proud to now be an ANDHealth ecosystem partner, a collaboration that reflects shared goals of fostering innovation and providing pathways for entrepreneurial success.”
ANDHealth Chief Executive Officer, Bronwyn Le Grice, welcomed ASME as an ANDHealth ecosystem partner.
“It’s known that including the voice of consumers and community in technology development improves the quality and applicability of new technologies, products and services. Working with ASME will further ensure that the knowledge and experience of clinicians, who are key end users and consumers of digital and connected health technologies, are integrated into products and services early in the commercialisation pathway,” Ms Le Grice said.
“Australian medical professionals see the challenges our health and care system face and are often best placed to inform solutions. Turning those ideas into something that is sustainable, commercial and can be delivered at scale takes a different set of skills and we’re delighted to be able to work with ASME to support clinicians and medical professionals in this space.”
