“It’s fantastic to be able to partner with two organisations that are so highly regarded and respected in the areas of technology and health innovation,” said ANDHealth founder and CEO Bronwyn Le Grice. “Having connected with over 250 Australian digital health companies in the past two and a half years, we know that there is a strong pipeline of digital health technology within NSW. By partnering with Cicada Innovations and NSW Health we can deliver programs which will directly support the commercialisation objectives of these high growth potential companies.”
Cicada Innovations CEO Sally-Ann Williams said: “Cicada Innovations has a rich history of working at the intersection of business, industry and science to create an ecosystem in which deep tech companies solving the world’s most pressing problems are supported to thrive, create an impact and – in some cases – save lives. We see this partnership as an exciting opportunity to leverage our deep expertise and networks in the space of commercialisation to advance the next wave of digital health ventures in NSW.”
Dr Antonio Penna, Executive Director, Office for Health and Medical Research, NSW Health said: “Since it was launched in 2014, the NSW Medical Device Commercialisation Training Program has been critical to accelerating the development of NSW intellectual property and the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. Over 80 graduates from the program have established 16 companies and raised over $53 million in public and private investment. The B.R.I.G.H.T. for DigitalHealth Program will allow us to build on this success and create similar opportunities for NSW’s thriving digital health ecosystem.”
ANDHealth will kick off the year in NSW with its highly regarded annual Summer Summit to be held at Cicada Innovations on March 17, 2020. Featuring global thought leaders and a highly curated agenda, the summit has been a must-attend event for Australia’s digital health community since ANDHealth’s inception in 2017.
Following the summit, ANDHealth will deliver two 3-day B.R.I.G.H.T. for Digital Health workshops, providing tailored commercialisation guidance from industry experts within the award-winning BRIGHT framework developed by Planet Innovation.
ANDHealth’s NSW partnership follows closely on the heels of a partnership with a consortium of leading health institutes in Western Australia. “ANDHealth is committed to working across all Australian states and territories to increase the global competitiveness of the Australian digital health sector,” Ms Le Grice said.
